This Thyroflex demonstration uses patented equipment that assesses Thyroid Health on a cellular level.

What does that mean exactly?

It is well know that Thyroid Hormone is made in the Thyroid.  However, before the Thyroid even starts to make any hormone, it is told to by a hormone called Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH).  This hormone is made and travels from the Pituitary Gland.  It’s role is to stimulate the making of two Thyroid hormones called Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3).  More of T4 is made than T3.

The T4 is inactive and basically it travels around the body via the blood to cells where it is converted into T3 which is the active Thyroid Hormone.  This is the hormone that is being measured by the Thyroflex.

The result, available within seconds is 98.5% accurate and compliments blood tests along of course, with symptoms of the patient to ascertain their individual level of Thyroid hormone output.

How does that work?

The Thyroflex is a simple reflex test.  There is a muscle in the forearm called the brachioradialus muscle. This is a good muscle to test as it has good access to the practitioner and makes it a comfortable test for the client to sit with their arm at rest. No needles necessary!

The stimulus hits the muscle and sends a signal to the brain on contact.  The brain then sends a signal back down via the nerves to and end result of a flick the middle finger.  This is the ‘reflex’ of the muscle. The speed at which these messages travel is the key.  This aligns with the speed of the metabolism in the body, which is governed by the active thyroid hormone within the cells.

So there you have it.  The Thyroflex demonstration shows how easy it is to test for thyroid hormone on a cellular level.
